Meet Milly

Nicky’s dog Milly is a cherished member of the family

Milly is a loved, slightly bonkers, Flat-Coated Retriever. She is a valued member of our family and makes us all laugh every day.She has taken it upon herself to look after everyone and is both an assistance and a therapy dog.

Recently, both of my children have been unwell, and Milly looks after them so lovingly. She searches for them when she doesn’t know where they are and lies with them whenever they need some comfort. She even tells us when our daughter is having a seizure, if there is no one else in the room.Milly is incredibly tuned into the children and very gentle and caring, but at the same time she’s great fun and always ready to play.

She has taken it upon herself to look after everyone

She has many of her own special quirks, and likes to collect stones from the beach, sing along to the harmonica, look after her toy squirrel ‘babies’and always starts every morning with a few yoga poses – a downwards and backwards dog. After breakfast, she runs upstairs to get the children out of bed and give them a good wash.We would all be lost without her and are very grateful to have such a special pooch.

Meet Oreo

Both Jo and her daughter feel eternally grateful for the happiness Oreo has brought into their lives

Oreo is an absolute pleasure to share our lives with. She recently lost her best friend Willow, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and it has taken her a good six months to get back to being her usual happy self.

Love certainly is a wet nose, slobbery kisses and a wagging tail

She’s my daughter’s best friend and they are inseparable. The bond between them is beautiful and we struggle to imagine what life will be like without her. We know that as a giant breed she’s now an old lady, but the joy she brings us all is beyond words.

We feel truly honoured to have Oreo in our lives and we treasure every day we spend with her. Love certainly is a wet nose, slobbery kisses and a wagging tail.

Meet Kin

With his dog Kin by his side, Robert can live life to the full

Kin is truly a once-in-a-lifetime dog. I suffer from seizures, and she keeps me safe and alerts me to impending episodes. Without her, my life would be very bleak.

Her beautiful grin stretches from ear to ear and is guaranteed to put a smile on your own face. She has a calm, stoic temperament and always lives for the moment, which helps me not to worry about the future.

Without her, my life would be very bleak

As my Medical Alert Dog, Kin has transformed my world. I used to be scared to leave the house, but with her by my side, I can claim my life back and do everything that makes me happy. Even throughout my hospital treatments, I’ve always been able to rely on Kin to keep me going. The nurses and doctors adore her and say that she brightens up their day.

Meet Thelma

With Thelma by her side, Debbie can accomplish anything

Thelma is the happiest, most caring canine. She's training to be my assistance dog and is doing amazingly. When I’m out, she alerts me if I’m having a panic attack.

I wouldn’t be where I am now without her

We've had her since she was a crazy puppy, back when she loved nothing more than bouncing off the sofa. With all her training, she's become muchcalmer, and always helps everyone we meet.

When we’re out, Thelma takes her working life very seriously, but she still has a silly side. She’s always zooming around the garden and is obsessed with food. I wouldn’t be where I am now without her. She’s my rock.

Meet Taryn and Rocco

Rocco provided Taryn with the love and support she needed to get back on her feet.

Shortly after Rocco was gifted to me as a Valentine’s Day present, I underwent major knee surgery, resulting in me having to learn to walk again rather than devoting my full attention to my puppy. As I regained my mobility, Rocco was a vital part of my recovery, providing unconditional love and support along with companionship when I was back on my feet.

Rocco was a vital part of my recovery

Earlier this year, as a personal challenge I committed to walking 100,000 steps in seven days for charity. It doesn’t sound like a lot but it was incredibly challenging for me to do, and my hound was with me every step of the way. He joined in the early morning walks when he would prefer to be snoozing in bed, he trotted alongside me each lunchtime delaying his set time for dog biscuits, and he continued with me every evening exploring each new location I took him to. At the end of the week, I had done 4000 extra steps and Rocco had earned consecutive exercise badges on his doggy fitness tracker attached to his collar.

Meet Arthur

Arthur came into Sandra’s life as she was recovering from a serious operation, and her health has only continued to improve since his arrival

Arthur is a very sweet but naughty pup. He came to help me get better following a liver and kidney transplant. He arrived at eight-weeks-old and he has taken over our lives. This huge, fluffy, goofball of a puppy came tumbling through the door and we have loved him since the minute he got here.

He’s totally crackers most of the time as he runs around chasing his own feet and tail. He loves everyone he meets instantly, whether it’s people we meet on walks, neighbours, delivery people, or dogs of every size and breed. He’s always a hit at puppy club as he’s too naughty and chases everyone when he should be sitting or waiting.

He’s totally crackers most of the time

He doesn’t like to go in his crate to rest because he might miss something, so he sits in protest and refuses to move. This is hilarious as I watch my other half try to persuade, beg, treat and nudge him in there.

Best of all, he gets me out of the house every day and I walk him in the countryside, on the Sussex downs, by the local duck pond, and in the fields and farms around our home.

My recovery has really rocketed since Arthur arrived and I can’t wait to show him more places and experiences as he gets older, and I get healthier. My doctors are delighted with my recovery, and we couldn’t be happier with Arthur.
